Looking Back: Beans Morocco’s Unwavering Spirit in “Killing Cookie”

In 2025, the entertainment world lost a true veteran, Beans Morocco. Looking back on his remarkable career, his unwavering work ethic remained one of his most defining traits. Even at 90 years old during the 2024 production of “Killing Cookie,” Beans poured his entire soul into his craft. He delivered a performance that will forever stand as a testament to his lifelong dedication to acting.

A True Indie Cinematic Feat

“Killing Cookie” is a masterclass in grassroots filmmaking and passion. Directed by Ryan Wise, the movie was shot under extraordinary circumstances—Wise actually carried a custom rig on his back to control both the audio and video production simultaneously.

Filmed in the scenic, small mountain town of Pine Mountain Club, the production embraced its environment by casting actual locals as extras to give the film its authentic feel. The project also served as the acting debut for Erica Blue, who brought fresh energy to the screen alongside the legendary Morocco.

A New Sound Canvas

To match the raw, authentic visual style, GameRunnaZ’s own J.T. Pender stepped out of his usual hip-hop element to score the film’s soundtrack. The goal was to build a rich, Americana mountain sound.

That vision was fully realized by teaming up with Anton Russkikh, whose incredibly unique guitar playing style proved to be an invaluable component. The blend of J.T.’s rhythmic production sensibilities and Anton’s infectious guitar riffs resulted in a completely unique mix. Arguably a never-before-done approach to scoring, this collaboration created an entirely new sound canvas—an addictive, one-of-a-kind Americana soundtrack that beautifully anchored the film’s emotional weight.
